• Beam-surface scattering experiments have a long history and many fundamental concepts are still best understood by reading landmark papers in the literature.  To help educate new researchers in the field, we have prepared a introductory document that summarizes a few of the most important phenomena to be aware of.

  • Classical molecular dynamics simulations are often helpful in rationalizing many of the observations made with our beam-surface scattering experiments.  To demonstrate how, we have prepared an educational web app that can be used to explore how observables like angular distributions and velocity distributions depend on important experimental parameters like incident angle, incident velocity, and surface temperature.
