Congratulations to Michael Fast Buffalo HorseMSU student Michael Fast Buffalo Horse of Browning, a member of the Blackfeet Nation, was one of 60 students across the country selected by the Council for Undergraduate Research to participate in the annual “Posters on the Hill” celebration. He was nominated by his mentor Jioanna Carjuzaa (at right).
Languages are dying at an alarming rate, and the languages spoken by the Native American tribes in the United States are especially vulnerable. Of the 300-plus languages that were spoken on this continent before European contact, only half remain,” Fast Buffalo Horse wrote in a project summary. “The tribal languages of Montana’s Indigenous nations were harshly suppressed historically through restrictive governmental policies, cultural prejudices and forced assimilation.”
Congratulations, Dr. Marilyn Lockhart!Marilyn Lockhart, Associate Professor of Adult & Higher Education and Interim Director of the Center for Faculty Excellence accepted the 2014 Exemplary Teaching and Learning Center Award recognizing and honoring MSU's Center for Faculty Excellence. This award was presented at the 25th International Conference on Teaching and Learning in Jacksonville, FL. Dr. Ann Ellsworth, Professor of Education, also presented two research projects at this conference.

Students enrolled in the Hyalite Elementary School-based "EDU 370 - Integrating Technology into Teaching" course meet in the Hyalite/MSU Collaborative Classroom for Teacher Education and begin a semester of exploring and engaging in technology integration. This innovative teaching space will provide MSU students with invaluable opportunities to gain authentic and relevant experience in digital learning through working with expert practicing teachers and participating K-5 students.
Need more time in the computer lab???The computer lab/classroom in Reid 422 will be open during the spring 2014 semester on Tuesdays and Thursdays from 5-8pm. There will be macintosh, windows, and macbook air computers available and Ben Butts will be available for assistance.
