Course Description
This graduate nursing course advances the student’s capacity for critical review of the literature from across disciplines in order to improve clinical outcomes by way of evidence based/informed practice.
Course Objectives
- Discuss evidence-based competencies for graduate nursing.
- Critically appraise existing literature and other evidence to answer relevant clinical practice questions and translate the best evidence into practice
- Evaluate research evidence for congruence with select constructs, models, and theories.
- Analyze the legal, cultural, and ethical considerations related to evidence-based practice.
- Critically examine implementation models to facilitate adoption of evidence-based practice in order to improve practice and outcomes.
