Course Description

This graduate nursing course advances the student’s capacity for critical review of the literature from across disciplines in order to improve clinical outcomes by way of evidence based/informed practice.

Course Objectives

  1. Discuss evidence-based competencies for graduate nursing.
  2. Critically appraise existing literature and other evidence to answer relevant clinical practice questions and translate the best evidence into practice
  3. Evaluate research evidence for congruence with select constructs, models, and theories.
  4. Analyze the legal, cultural, and ethical considerations related to evidence-based practice.
  5. Critically examine implementation models to facilitate adoption of evidence-based practice in order to improve practice and outcomes.
