The Ivan Doig Center is pleased to request proposals for the Ivan Doig Faculty Writing Award. Tenure-track faculty at MSU-Bozeman who are finishing a humanities or social science-based writing project related to the study of the North American West may apply for a $5000 award for use as salary replacement during summer 2022. Priority will be given to faculty who are in fields that have limited access to such funding.

Application Due Date: March 4, 2022 by 5 p.m. to: [email protected]

Applications should include the following material:

  • Cover sheet containing:
    •  Applicant’s name
    • Applicant’s department
    • Project title
    • Preferred email address
    • Project Abstract (no more than 300 words)
  • Project description that explains the faculty member’s project, its significance to the field, and the work that will be completed by the end of summer 2022 (no more than 3 double-spaced pages)
  • List of previous or pending grants and fellowships associated with the project, along with amount funded
  • 2-page CV

Incomplete applications will not be considered.

A report detailing the summer’s work will be due by September 15,2021. Failure to submit a report may jeopardize future funding opportunities from the Center. We request that scholars who receive these funds acknowledge the Ivan Doig Center in any future publications that are produced with the help of this award.
