The most fundamental goal of the Health Professions Advising (HPA) office is to facilitate the process by which students identify personal interests and skills and take ownership in pursuing career aspirations, particularly in the health professions. The HPA office strongly recommends that students utilize an informed decision-making process to identify the most appropriate and individualized career choice. Structurally, the HPA office assists students in exploring career options, understanding the academic requirements of professional schools, and preparing the most competitive professional school application possible.
MSU students have access to excellent preparation for entry to graduate schools of the health professions, including medical, dental, optometry, pharmacy, physician assistant and others. Students may consult with the Director of Health Professions Advising throughout, or even prior to, their MSU career. This knowledgeable advisor offers information about the pre-requisites for a breadth of health professions and offers support throughout the professional school application and interview process.
We are proud of the outstanding faculty who educate MSU students in the classrooms and laboratories -- and of the students who take advantage of the many opportunities to learn, explore, give back, and then find great success as they launch beyond MSU toward careers in the health professions.
