Montana State University will be collecting information for faculty annual reviews, annual reports, discipline-specific accreditation documents and other reports and publications through a new system called Activity Insight provided by Digital Measures. The system will be able to produce faculty annual review documents, CVs, ad hoc reports, documentation to support P&T dossiers, and bio-sketches in real time based on the information housed in the database. In addition, the Office of Planning and Analysis will create reports for accreditation and other standardized or ad hoc reports. It will also provide MSU with reporting capabilities to support grant applications and help MSU track metrics for the strategic plan. Finally, know that the software also gives departments the flexibility to create reports that are specific to their own units and/or disciplines.
The intent is that rather than multiple offices across campus asking you for information about your work several times each year in slightly different ways, faculty members will be asked for information about their activities in one place, using one tool, thus preventing you from having to duplicate your reporting efforts. Of course, you may revisit the site any time you would like to update your information.
Content from the FAD database will be loaded into the Digital Measures tool for those users. Additionally, where appropriate, we will use data from Banner to prepopulate some of the fields. The system will also allow you to load BibTeX files so that you do not have to rekey any citation information currently available in variety of reference managers (e.g., EndNote, Mendeley, RefWorks, Zotero) and publication databases (e.g., Google Scholar, PubMed, Scopus, Web of Science).
