Digging Deeper

In this "Academics 101" section, you will cover the MSU Course Catalog, MSU's Core 2.0 requirements and how to track degree progress.

-Shannon Bangen, Director of Orientation

Course Catalog

The Course Catalog at MSU is your general guidebook for all things academics! Students may access the Course Catalog on the Catalog webpage.

CORE Curriculum

The CORE Curriculum is what most students recognize as general-education requirements. Through CORE students develop an enhanced understanding of themselves, effectiveness as communicators, thinkers and problem solvers, and an understanding of their responsibilities as members of a larger community.

Degree Progress at MSU

Students must complete 120+ credits to graduate with a degree from MSU and it is recommended that students take  about 15 credits a semester to stay on track to graduate in 4 years. DegreeWorks helps students track and manage their progress towards degree.
