Review frequently asked questions regarding MSU's STATE Days program

Only rising seniors from Montana who will be entering college in fall of 2025, as well as their family members, are eligible to attend STATE Days.

STATE Days is a FREE program for rising Montana seniors & family members.

Registration for STATE Days is now open! 

When registering, students can indicate on the form how many family members will be attending.  Students and family members do not need to register separately. 

Check-in for students will be on Thursday morning from 7:45 – 9:45am. Programming will kick off on Thursday with a welcome at 10:00am. The program will conclude by 3:00pm on Friday.

Yes. During STATE Days, students will stay in the residence halls and meals will be provided throughout the program!

Yes. The Office of Admissions will arrange lodging for the night students and family members stay on campus.

We will try to accommodate requests to the best of our ability but do we not guarantee that students are roomed together based on request. If requests are not received, students will be placed in a residence hall room with another attendee of the same gender though they may be placed on a co-ed floor. A standard room has 2 beds.

During STATE Days, free lodging is provided to students and family members. Students will have the option to either stay with your family or room with another student. A standard room has 2 beds.

If students are interested in arriving to MSU on July 31st, please reach out to [email protected] to request early housing.

All participants in STATE Days should bring:

  • Backpack or book-bag
  • Pen, pencil and notebook
  • Casual clothing
  • Comfortable walking shoes

Additionally, in order to complete your application while you are here, students must have:

  • SSN
  • Mailing address with Zip Code
  • Parent contact info
  • Did parents graduate from college? From MSU?
  • Intended major
  • Cumulative High School GPA
  • Counselor Contact Info
  • Dual Enrollment Credit
  • ACT/SAT Test Scores

Those staying on campus should bring:

  • Toiletries such as a towel, soap, shampoo, etc.
  • Shower shoes
  • Optional: Fan for your room (residence hall rooms are not air-conditioned)
  • You will NOT need to bring: Bedding

A parking credential is provided in advance for attendees to display on their dashboard for the duration of the program. The credential allows visitors to park on campus for free.
