In May 2023, CAIRHE joined with the Center for Health Outcomes and Population Equity (HOPE) at the Huntsman Cancer Institute, University of Utah, to form HOPE and CAIRHE 2gether (HC2), a unique research enterprise designed to increase the reach of evidence-based cancer prevention and control interventions in areas of persistent poverty. Funded by the National Cancer Institute (U54CA280812), HC2 is led by principal investigators David Wetter, Ph.D., director of the Center for HOPE, and CAIRHE Director Alexandra Adams, M.D., Ph.D.

HC2’s community-level, translational research programs align with communities’ cultural beliefs, resources, and priorities; reach across the lifespan; and strategically partner with key “anchor organizations,” public health agencies, healthcare systems, Indigenous communities, and community organizations across five states.
