When should our club submit a travel request?

Travel requests must be completed on Cats Connect via the Master Travel Form no fewer than 5 days prior to trip departure. Additionally, you are required to submit an updated roster 24-48 hours prior to trip departure IF anything has changed in your Master Travel Form. This can be done via email.

Are club members required to complete travel paperwork?

Yes! Once an academic year each club member is required to submit a Participant Travel Waiver before their first trip.

How do I request a travel letter for my academic courses?

Travel Verification Letter requests are done in the Master Travel Form submission. One travel letter will be written for the club and it is the clubs responsibility to disperse to members. A roster will be attached to the letter.

If we rent from Enterprise, do we need to return the vehicle full of gas?

Yes.

The Enterprise rates show prices for 12-passenger vans, can we rent them?

NO! MSU Students are not allowed to travel in vehicles larger than 10-passenger. SUVs and Vans hold 7 people total and are the largest vehicles in the Enterprise fleet available to MSU students/clubs.

How old do students have to be to drive?

18 years and older with a valid driver’s license if you have club funding. If you are not using club funding, you must be 21 years or older.

Can non-MSU people travel in and/or drive the Enterprise vehicle?

No, unless they are a registered Club Sports Coach with MSU Campus Recreation Department.

Does our faculty or staff advisor need to travel with us?

No. As long as your trip has a student trip leader (President or another officer), then you do not.

How soon should my club reserve vehicles?

As soon as you know your travel dates and number of travelers, submit an Enterprise Request Form on Cats Connect. Enterprise runs out of vehicles quickly due to high demand, especially larger ones.

Do we have to reserve the vehicles through RSF or can we call Enterprise directly?

Please work through the Enterprise Request Form and the Club Sports Staff if your club has funding, do NOT call Enterprise directly. By booking through Club Sports, your vehicles will be covered by MSU and you are able to have drivers 18+.

What is the Cancellation policy for Enterprise vehicles?

  • Vehicles not yet delivered to motor pool location or delivery not requested:
    • Cars — less than 24 hour notice, $20/vehicle
    • Vehicles other than cars — less than 36 hour notice, $35/vberhicle (these vehicles are more expensive and they may have had to bring the vehicle in from another location)
  • Vehicles already delivered to motor pool location:
    • Full day charge unless roads are listed as emergency travel only.
  • For Monday early AM departures:
    • Vehicles are delivered Friday afternoon, so call cancellations for early Monday will have to be done before Friday at 2pm.

If road conditions are listed as emergency travel only, then this does not apply HOWEVER you must NOT pick-up the vehicle from Enterprise if this is the case, otherwise you will be charged.
