Montana State University welcomes friends and family to celebrate our Bobcats graduates. Commencement is a very special tradition marking a significant milestone in their academic journey, and we look forward to recognizing their hard work, dedication and accomplishments together.

 

The University-wide commencement ceremony honoring Certificates, Bachelor, Masters and Doctoral graduates is Friday, May 9, 2025 at the Brick Breeden Fieldhouse at 9:40 AM and 2:10 PM.

Directions

Bozeman, Montana is located on I-90. Two interstate exits will bring you to the MSU campus in Bozeman. Exit 309 provides the most direct route to our campus.

The Brick Breeden Fieldhouse is located off W Kagy Blvd and South 11th Ave, across the street from Bobcat Stadium.

Many of our visitors prefer to use GoogleMaps to locate campus. You can use the address 1 Bobcat Cir, Bozeman, MT 59715 to bring you to the Fieldhouse but please refer to the parking map for the parking lot.

From the East

  • Take exit 309 onto Main Street and proceed West to Willson Ave.
  • Turn left on Willson Ave and travel 18 blocks to Kagy Blvd (Willson will curve slightly here).
  • Turn right on Kagy Blvd and continue to South 7th Ave.
  • Turn right on South 7th Ave and continue to the hourly parking/garage entrance on the left side.

From the West

  • Take exit 305 onto North 19th Ave and follow it South approximately 3.5 miles to Kagy Blvd.
  • Turn left onto Kagy Blvd and continue to South 7th Ave.
  • Turn left and continue to the hourly parking/garage entrance on the left side.

 

A detailed email will be sent to your student during the week of commencement. Please check in with your student to have them forward you that information.

Parking

Parking on campus is Free on the day of Commencement.  Bobcat Lot 15 (Fieldhouse), the Garage (Lot 10), Bobcat Lot 11, and the Stadium Lots (20 & 25) are all great options for parking in vicinity of the ceremony.

Traffic

We expect about 1100 graduates to be recognized at each ceremony. Please keep that in mind due to the high volume of guest and degree candidates in attendance arrival and departure times may be longer than expected. We will have police help directing traffic and some roads near the venue may become one way only.

Once guests arrive to campus they will want to enter the North, South or West Entrance. They will be required to walk through a metal detector when entering the building.

Only undergraduate students will be allowed to enter in the Wellness Center. Undergraduate students will be required to walk through a metal detector.

Students will receive an email the week before commencement with ADA information. Please talk to your graduate and have them forward the email with the attachments.

All guests and degree candidates entering the building are required to go through a metal detectors. We request -- but don’t require -- graduates and guests leave their bags and purses in their vehicles. Please leave cell phones and keys in your pockets when going through the metal detectors. Per Brick Breeden Fieldhouse policy, all bags are subject to search upon entry.

Concessions will be open during the ceremony.
