Dear Colleagues and Students,

In honor of Women’s History Month, I encourage you to learn more about Supreme Court Justice Ruth Bader Ginsburg, who was born on this day in 1933.

Ruth Bader Ginsburg

Born Joan Ruth Bader on March 15, 1933 in Brooklyn, New York, Ruth Bader Ginsburg served as an associate justice on the Supreme Court of the United States for 27 years. An exceptional student, Ginsburg graduated at the top of her class from Cornell University. From 1956-1958, Ginsburg was a student at Harvard Law School, where she was the first woman member and editor of the Harvard Law Review. In 1958, Ginsburg moved to New York. She was admitted to Columbia Law School, where she graduated, tied for first in her class, in 1959. Ginsburg became the first woman tenured faculty member at Columbia Law School in 1972.

  • Students looking for an education-related elective course for Fall 2021 should consider EDU 411 - ESL: Teaching Culturally and Linguistically Diverse K-12 Students. It will be offered Tuesdays and Thursdays from 8:00 – 9:15 am. See the attached flyer for more details.
  • Advising for Summer & Fall 2021 is now open. Elementary Education, Social Studies Broadfield, and General Science Broadfield students can advise with David and Cyndi via email (just email a list of proposed classes and any questions to your assigned advisor) or by appointment (Webex is preferred, but we can also call you).
  • Students planning to student teach in Fall 2021 must attend one of the following two virtual meetings:

Opportunities

  • A Little Journey Montessori School is looking to add to our team of teachers! We have part-time and full-time positions available. We are a school that offers care to infants, toddlers and preschoolers so there is lots of opportunity to learn and work with all age groups. We are looking for teaching assistants in all age groups. I am looking for knowledge or background in Montessori education but it is not required for this position. I am looking to hire qualified staff members for part-time assistant teaching positions for this licensed childcare facility. The position would start as soon as possible.
    • QUALIFICATIONS:
      • A friendly nature, patience and love for children.
      • Good organization and communication skills.
      • Experience caring for children is preferred.
      • Montessori training or understanding of the Montessori method is also preferred.
    • REQUIREMENTS
      • Infant, Child, Adult CPR and First Aid certifications required within 30 days of hire.
      • Must pass criminal and CPS background checks.
      • Verification of Immunizations
      • Continuing education and classes for MTECP and DPHHS

  • Bozeman Parks and Recreation is looking for part-time year-round and full-time summer staff.

  • Nanny wanted for two kids: I'm looking for a college student to watch my 2 girls. Lilly is 5 and Dahlia is 2. They are amazing, smart, funny, and energetic sisters! I'm a wife and mother. I have an MBA and am going back to MSU to obtain a nursing degree. I'm really flexible with scheduling but would love someone to come over 2-3 days a week. We live on S 8th Ave just 2 blocks up from College Street. If you have a license you will be able to drive my car to go on fun adventures, like Jump Time, the Museum, Downtown, etc.!! I will also feed you!

Like I said, I am extremely flexible, I just need someone to come over a few times a week to watch my kiddos. I am a loving, fun, loud (haha) woman who loves Bozeman. Events

  • The next Library Media Certificate webinar will be April 6th at 6-7pm MDT. Dr. Sarah Pennington will present Change Your Language; Change Your Perceptions. She will discuss how expanding our definition of what counts as "real" reading can support those who may not see themselves as readers based on our traditional definitions. Registration is required to participate in the webinar. All registered participants will receive a recording of the webinar.
