On-Campus Housing

MSU is able to offer a limited number of on-campus housing slots for students in the LIFE Scholars program (maximum of 10 students or 5 dorm rooms).  This opportunity is available to students who are able to:

  • live independently with the minimal support provided by residential assistants (RA’s).
  • be independent with medications.
  • be independent with hygiene needs.
  • be able to independently navigate campus (with or without tools like google maps).
  • manage downtime (comfort with filling time during the weekends).
  • be able to communicate their wants/needs with roommate, RA, and LS staff.
  • be responsive to communication from LS staff (answer calls and texts).
  • attend in-person initial roommate introduction (June) and on-campus orientation activities (August).

The LIFE Scholars program staff will provide supplemental support to ensure a successful and safe campus experience.

On campus housing is not guaranteed and is contingent on the availability of rooms and/or residential peer partners. To express an interest in living on campus, students must complete the housing section on the program application. Housing requests will be considered as part of the interview and selection process.

Students are responsible for all MSU housing and meal plan costs.
