Health Enhancement K-12 (Health & Physical Education)
The undergraduate Health Enhancement K-12 major is designed for students who wish to become licensed to teach health enhancement and physical education in grades K-12. For more information on admission to the Teacher Education Program, student teaching, licensure, professional expectations and more, please visit the Teacher Education Program catalog page.
Graduates will receive a Bachelor of Science in Health Enhancement (Health and Physical Education) K-12.

Students studying Health Enhancement have the opportunity to join the Health Enhancement Majors Club, a group dedicated to promoting physical activity and overall well-being within the Gallatin County community. A key initiative of the Health Enhancement Majors Club is Little Bobcat Track. An annual staple in the Bozeman community, this event serves as a way to get elementary-age children involved in track and field events including hurdles, shot put, javelin, sprints, pole vault, long jump, high jump, relays, and agility ladders.

Health Enhancement students have many opportunities to attend conferences, in and out of the state of Montana. In Spring 2025, 16 Health Enhancement students attended the Hawaii Association for Health, Physical Education, Recreation and Dance (HAHPERD) Conference in Hawaii. Our students presented three different sessions: Movement Literacy, Eclipse Ball, and Fitness Fun. This three day event promoted programs in the areas of health, physical education, recreation, and dance throughout the state of Hawaii and allowed our students to work with educators outside the state of Montana. While they were there, our students stopped by Kahuku High and Intermediate School to work with students in grades 7 through 12.
