The Prospects

The MSU Hilleman Scholars Program is a proud sponsor of The Prospects Young Entrepreneur competition hosted by the Montana Chamber of Commerce and Youth Entrepreneurs!

The Prospects is a competition for Montana high school students to submit their business proposals and win the Prize Purse of The Prospects. “As of January 27, we are up to $47,700, including cash, technology, scholarships, work-based learning and mentorship opportunities.” Matthew Olson of the Montana Chamber of Commerce said, “The main goal of The Prospects is to find, reward, and celebrate Montana’s next generation of youth entrepreneurs and create a tangible opportunity that closer connects the business and education communities, pairing business mentors with Montana's our future leaders.

The Montana Chamber of Commerce and the MSU Hilleman Scholars Program have similar goals for shaping the future of Montana. The MSU Hilleman Scholars Program looks for students who have a potential to do great things for Montana with a leadership drive and potential to make an impact on the world. 

Matthew added that the Montana Chamber of Commerce believes in the MSU Hilleman Scholars Program. “Montana success stories, such as Dr. Maurice Hilleman, can inspire kids in similar situations across rural Montana. This partnership and The Prospects platform is intended to help find the next Maurice Hilleman.  Then provide the support for education, development of ideas, experiences to expand their thinking and, again, connect them with mentors and networks of leaders to help them succeed in life.”

Matthew also shared that, “Ideas and innovation take time to manifest themselves and we often need inspiration from those who have achieved great things before us.  We expect that The Prospects will become an annual competition, and look forward to sharing the story of Dr. Hilleman to inspire Montana students that anything is possible.” 

Both the MSU Hilleman Scholars Program and the Montana Chamber of Commerce are excited for the future of our partnership.
