Outreach Seed Grant Proposals Now Being Accepted

Deadline is Friday, April 5, 2024.

The Montana State University Outreach and Engagement Council (OEC) invites proposals for FY25 Outreach and Engagement Seed Grant funds. The program goal is to promote engagement activities that involve faculty, students and staff in partnership with local and regional constituents to address the needs of citizens in Montana and beyond.

Areas of Responsibility

The Council:

  • Guides involvement in outreach, engagement, and leadership activities through systematic assessment, reporting, and policy development to fulfill the commitments of a Carnegie Community Engaged Institution.
  • Strategically guides outreach, engagement, and leadership at MSU by collaborating with off-campus communities and other external partners, leveraging resources and pursuing extramural funding.
  • Supports Engagement activities associated with MSU's strategic plans: Choosing Promise (Adopted 2019) and Learners and Leaders (2012-2018)

MSU Receives the Carnegie Community Engagement Classification

Carnegie Foundation: Elective Community Engagement ClassificationMSU was once again recognized with the Carnegie Community Engagement Classification in 2020, an elective designation that indicates institutional commitment to community engagement by the Carnegie Foundation for the Advancement of Teaching. MSU is one of 119 U.S. colleges and universities to receive the designation.

The classification brings national recognition to MSU's commitment to engaging with external partners in all aspects of teaching, research and service in order to benefit the public.
