Areas of Responsibility

The Council:

  • Guides involvement in outreach, engagement, and leadership activities through systematic assessment, reporting, and policy development to fulfill the commitments of a Carnegie Community Engaged Institution. MSU received the Carnegie Community Engagement Classification in 2010.
  • Strategically guides outreach, engagement, and leadership at MSU by collaborating with off-campus communities and other external partners, leveraging resources and pursuing extramural funding.
  • Supports Engagement activities associated with MSU's strategic plans: Choosing Promise (Adopted 2019) and Learners and Leaders (2012-2018)
