I'm Troy, and I'm thrilled to be part of your journey at MSU. With 35 years of diverse leadership experience, I'm here to guide you in mastering the art of communication, teamwork, and effective presentations. My goal is to help you excel in your academic and professional endeavors, whether it's acing that interview or leading a successful project.

Strengths as a Coach:

  • Supportive and understanding coaching style.
  • Expertise in presentations, team collaboration, and effective communication.
  • Real-world experience in leadership and project management.

Before joining the MSU team in 2021, my career spanned many roles in local government, from managing billion-dollar economic development projects to leading high performing teams to next-gen initiatives to law enforcement. I've learned the importance of clear communication and strategic thinking in every aspect of service.  I have a bachelor's, a MPA, and graduated from the Harvard Kennedy School Senior Executives program.

Beyond campus, I serve as an Executive Manager at The Berkley Group and run Summit Leadership Strategies, where I focus on leadership development and emotional intelligence. These experiences enrich my coaching, allowing me to offer you a blend of real-world insights.

When I'm not coaching or consulting, you'll find me embracing the Montana lifestyle with my family. I've been married for 35 years to my wonderful wife, who works in MSU Admissions, and we have a daughter who's a senior at MSU. I'm an avid outdoorsman, enjoying fly fishing, hiking, Nordic skiing, and wildlife photography – and I love sharing stories about the beautiful Yellowstone wildlife.

In our sessions, expect a supportive and understanding environment where your voice matters. I believe in learning from each student, ensuring our time together is as enriching for you as it is for me. Let's collaborate to unlock your potential and achieve your goals.
