  • Graduate Students in the News: Five Watershed Hydrology Lab students earn presentation awards from the MT American Water Resources Association! Congratulations to LRES and MSU College of Agriculture graduate students Tim Covino (PhD), Fabian Nippgen (PhD), John Mallard (MS), Leslie Piper (MS), and Paddy Stoy (MS). They all won student presentation awards recently from the Montana American Water Resources Association fall meeting held in Great Falls.

    Timothy Covino

    Doctoral Student: Land Resources and Environmental Science
    Hometown: Vernon, Conn.

    Timothy received a grant to pursue his study of how to manage and protect aquatic ecosystems using topographic information generated with high-tech laser equipment.

    Frankee was named one of only 18 Bush Leadership fellows for 2009, an honor that enabled her to pursue her doctorate in Indian Leadership Education and Development.

    Amin recently received a NASA Student Researchers Program fellowship for his work on an instrument that will further our understanding of how hurricanes develop.
