Tuition and Fees
Tuition is assessed on a per credit hour basis. Rates are subject to change. Some courses may require additional lab fees. Textbooks are not included in the tuition rates. Textbooks may be purchased or ordered through the MSU Bookstore (1-800-435-1286) or may be available from other sources.Tuition information is updated effective for Summer 2018 through Spring 2019:
*NOTE: Distributed Learning fee does not apply to MSSE CAMPUS-based courses.
Additional Graduate School fees:
- $60 Application Fee
- $50 Program of Study Filing Fee
- $20 Audit Fee (charged each time a Graduation Application is submitted)
- $30 Commencement Fee (charged when the first Graduation Application is submitted)
*Total does not include any applicable course fees or program fees.
*Total does not include mandatory health insuarance for students registered for 6 or more credits. (see below)
- Federal Financial Aid
To qualify for financial aid and loan deferment, you must (a) have admissions into a program of study and (b) register for a minimum of 6 credits per semester for campus and/or distance classes.

Student Health Insurance
If you are registered for six or more credits in a semester, you may be billed for the MSU Student Health Insurance plan. If you would like to waive the health insurance fees, you can do so when you register for courses.
