Northern Plains Transition to Teaching
TEACHING. You've thought about it. Now do it.
The Northern Plains Transition to Teaching program is
designed to provide a compact, rigorous, and diverse system of preparation to
move seasoned professionals with established records of excellence into a new
career in the public school classroom as competent educators prepared to meet
the needs of all learners and to continue their own professional development
throughout the course of their new career.
"I must congratulate you
and your staff on the excellent preparation I received. I started teaching last
year, and I was amazed at how many times subjects I had just studied came up in
team meetings. I was prepared to participate and could keep up!"
"The program support and participant diversity enhanced
my learning
experience. Both the academics and the internship were
practical tools
that I have been utilizing in my second year of
teaching... and beyond."
"The NPTT program
allowed me to begin my transition from 'war room' to the classroom before I hung
up the Air Force blue and retired. The program at
MSU is the perfect transition program for professionals wanting bring their
experience to today's youth. It is obvious that Montana and Wyoming are serious
about attracting experience into its classrooms that will go a long way to make
education more relevant to the student."
“I am finishing my M.Ed with a sense of
satisfaction for the things I have learned and the professionals I have
encountered. I can't tell you enough how impressed I am with the NPTT program.
The quality professors, meaningful and useful coursework, as well as the
succinct nature of the program should be modeled and made available on a
nation-wide scale. It is the type of program that doesn't just keep putting
band-aids on the growing cancers apparent in the realm of education today, but
rather presents a solution that heals from within through solid preparation and
dedicated teaching.”
"Believe in yourself. Believe in the NPTT Program. It really is something that
you can accomplish!"
