Welcome to ConnectionMSU!

This program was created for Division of Student Success employees to support each other through mentoring relationships.

Why participate in this program?

Participating in a mentoring program provides benefits for both mentors and mentees.

For mentees, mentors provide invaluable lessons on how to lead, how to advance, and how to work more efficiently within your organization. Mentors can provide feedback and insights that may be missed by co-workers and supervisors who work with mentees day-to-day. Participating in a mentoring program can also put into perspective mentee's goals, professional aspirations, and tangible steps to reach both. Ultimately, the mentor can provide support to help their mentee thrive within the MSU community.

For mentors, this is an opportunity to help form the next generation of MSU's leaders. By providing support for your mentee, you will not only be a great resource, but there will also be an opportunity to learn more about the Division's culture. You will be able to understand what employees like your mentee are worried about, confused about, or excited about within our Division. Ideally, this relationship will be a two-way street, providing opportunities for growth both for the mentor and the mentee.

Mentoring Program Expectations

Before applying to the program, consider your impact on the program. Do you have enough time to effectively be a mentor or mentee? Have you thought about how you can positively engage with a mentoring program to help another person? Do you have some starting ideas on how to make the most out of a mentoring relationship?
