Here are your Monday Minutes for the week of September 28 - October 2, 2020.

Please make a point of reading this email every Monday (or Tuesday), as it highlights key department announcements, opportunities, and events, particularly events hosted by one of the Department of Education’s student clubs. It covers everything you need to know in a single email message.

From the Department Head

Dear Students, Faculty, and Staff,

We are nearly halfway through the semester and we have much to celebrate! I encourage you to take part in MSU’s Homecoming Week activities. Keep the Bobcat spirit alive from your corner of the globe during Montana State University’s Stay-HOMEcoming. Throughout the week, each day, you will have the opportunity to share themed photos and stories on our Facebook page @msu.alumni.foundation or on your Instagram using #MSUHouseCats. Play along, and you may even win a few prizes!

Take good care,

Work and Volunteer Opportunities

  • Big Sky Youth Empowerment Project is recruiting volunteer tutors: Want to get involved but don’t have a ton of extra time? Become a BYEP Tutor! Big Sky Youth Empowerment offers a tutoring option for current participants interested in receiving academic support. A BYEP Tutor will provide 8th - 12th grade participants academic support in a variety of subject areas. This is a great opportunity for our MSU Teacher Candidates who are looking to gain experience educating teenagers who present with a variety of needs. During COVID-19, tutoring will take place Tuesdays and Thursdays from 12:30 - 3:30 pm in our new Community Room in downtown Bozeman. Tutors will be asked to commit to a full season for one day a week. The seasons run from the beginning of October to mid-November, and mid-January through mid-April. As a BYEP Tutor, you will receive BYEP Mentor Training and have access to additional training resources throughout the season. Apply at https://www.byep.org/tutoring/ or contact [email protected] for more information!
