A message from the Dean's Office, September 23, 2020:

EHHD technology processes

  • Kyle Bench is our embedded UIT support person. His office is in 207 Reid and he works part time for us and part time for several other departments and colleges. UIT has been short staffed for quite some time, but they are working to hire additional support members to ease Kyle's workload. Usually, Kyle works on supporting our College technology needs and his services are available through a ticketing system using [email protected]. However, Kyle is currently working on a back log of 50+ tickets and has been instructed to work on the oldest tickets first. He asks that you contact  the UIT helpdesk directly for the foreseeable future, until he gets caught up.  UIT Helpdesk can be reached at 994-1777 or via a ticketing system at [email protected]
  • Smart podiums in classrooms have stickers on the side with a telephone number to be used for immediate help. Please request instructional technical support through that specific help desk by calling 994-7266.  They are as quick as they possibly can be to help with your problems.  We recommend checking instructional technology before your class to make sure everything is functioning properly.
  • The College of EHHD has a small number of SWIVL/Owls/Web Cams that can be checked out from the Dean's office in 250 Reid. We ask that you check them out through the Dean’s Office staff andreturn them promptly. We prefer you keep them for 24 hours maximum. Please note that demand is very high for using the tech items, so again, if you think you need one for an extended period of time, let us know and we will see what can be done about purchasing one for you.  For help in operating or setting up the technology, contact Becky Stanton ([email protected]) or Kyle ([email protected]). Again, please be patient as demand is high and the number of products is limited.
  • If you wish to purchase items for your own use, and have funds available, please contact Becky Stanton for Education Department needs.

Thank you all for your help in getting through this challenging time. If we can work together, we can make it work.
