Whenever you reset your NetID password you will also need to update it on any device and for any application/service where it is used.

Email & WiFi Apps on Android & iOS devices

Use these instructions to update your NetID password where it is  used to connect to your MSU email account and MSU-Secure on your Android or iOS  mobile device. 

Update password on mail app used for MSU email account 

  1. Open the Mail application used to access your MSU email account.
  2. From Inbox tap Menu (More) icon and select Settings.
  3. Tap Manage Accounts and select your MSU email account. 
  4. Tap Password and enter your NetID password.
  5. Tap OK.

Update password for MSU-Secure wireless

Be sure you are on campus and in range of network when updating MSU-Secure.

  1. Tap Settings.
  2. Tap Wi-Fi (or Wireless & Networks).
  3. Tap MSU-Secure.
  4. Tap Forget.
  5. Go back to Wi-Fi settings and tap MSU-Secure to rejoin.

Update password on mail app for MSU email account 

  1. Tap Settings.
  2. Tap Accounts & Passwords.
  3. Tap Exchange and then tap your MSU email account. 
  4. Tap Password and enter your NetID password.
  5. Tap Done.

Update password for MSU-Secure wireless

Be sure you are on campus and in range of network when updating MSU-Secure.

  1. Tap Settings.
  2. Turn Wi-Fi Off and then turn back On.
  3. Enter your NetID password when prompted to enter password for MSU Secure.

 

Other applications

Other applications/services where your NetID is used for access will also require that you update your NetID password, including:

  • Office 365
  • Software portal
  • Webex
  • VPN
