Ina chukua kijiji kizima kumlea mutoto (Swahili)
"It Takes A Whole Village"
Dean Larry Baker
This ancient African proverb reminds me of our commitment to others. While it takes a village to raise a child, it takes a community to educate that child. So often we are forced to consider the cost of what we do, and we spend little time considering the value of what we do. Investment in education continues to be costly but with corresponding value to the individual and the community.
The College of Education, Health and Human Development is dedicated to maintaining an environment where all students are given the opportunity and support they need to be successful. We strive to recruit, enroll, and retain to graduation students who are committed to achieving their educational and professional goals. By having access to faculty and staff who are dedicated to and supportive of students, the costs and value are equitably distributed.
As Fall Semester 2011 comes to an end, we wish you "Happy Holidays." Thank you for being part of our family, friends, and community.
