Added Endorsements and the Board of Public Education Internship (BPE)

At MSU we value the opportunity to support currently licensed Montana Teachers in adding teaching endorsement. We do so through the Board of Public Education Internship (BPE Internship).

The BPE and added endorsements requires all coursework to be completed within three years while making adequate yearly progress (minimum of six credits per year completed). The program requires participation from you and your employing administrator throught the duration of BPE Internship engagement, as well as both Fall and Spring enrollment and participation in CEEX 280.

This program is rigerous and requires a commitment to participation.

In order to successfully complete the BPE Internship candidates will:

  • Enroll in and complete CEEX 280 BPE Internship course (fall and spring semesters) and complete all required assignments.
  • In final semester of CEEX - complete final, summative assignment and observation
  • Complete all coursework required on LEAT endorsement review  with a passing grade of C or higher
  • Seek approval for all content coursework prior to enrollment each semester, per your course plan. Communicate with Jamie O'Callaghan regarding course approvals
  • Receive a minimum GPA  of 2.75  or higher in new endorsement area.
  • Submit all course transcripts via CEEX 280 each fall semester
  • Must take and pass Praxis Subject Assessment Exam
  • Score a minimum of seven (7) points on the Montana Assessment of Content Knowledge with each area scoring a 2 or higher
