About Apartments

Welcoming & Quiet
A great place to call home, University Student Apartments is conveniently located on the outskirts of campus, allowing tenants to feel connected while also providing a quiet community atmosphere. Our community is large enough to afford many opportunities to connect with individuals from all backgrounds, yet small enough to feel welcome and supported.

24-Hour Staff Availability
We take care of you morning, noon, and night! When our main office is closed, our on-call team is available to help you with everything from checking in for the first time, assisting with lock outs, assessing maintenance issues, and more.

Reasonable Rates & Month-to-Month Contracts
We offer affordable rates that make it easier to focus on academics than your rent payment. When you’re ready to move out, you’re not locked into a yearly contract.

Diverse Community
A majority of MSU’s international student population lives in University Student Apartments. We house tenants from Montana and many from out-of-state. We are home to veterans, single parents, undergraduate students, graduate students, non-traditional students, and more!

Year-Round Events
We host a minimum of five all-community events each year varying from holiday events to fun in the sun. Each neighborhood Community Assistant also holds monthly activities for you to meet some of the other tenants living in your neighborhood!

You Belong Here
Our staff looks forward to serving you through your Bobcat journey. We can’t wait to welcome you to our thriving community!

Matt “Moose” Young – Community Director for University Student Apartment’s first trip to Montana was his move to Bozeman and MSU this summer. Moose started life in Wyoming and lived for some time in Kansas for high school, and most of his family still lives in the land of OZ and amber waves of grain. Moose worked for over 20 years as a photographer, both in newspapers and as a photographer for higher education, then found his way into housing. His almost decade long journey in housing has taken him from Colorado, Wyoming, New Mexico, and now Montana. At some point, he might actually be able to cross the Rocky Mountains heading west.
Spending time with his family, getting out on his motorcycle or when the notion strikes picking up his camera is where you will find him when Moose is not working on being there for his staff of CAs and MSU residents.
Testimonials

Krista Dicomitis
“The mountains were calling and I had to move here! The exceptional faculty/staff and programs on campus were a happy addition! The FGH staff members make the transition into housing easy which allows you to feel settled, faster. MSU has so many programs, offerings and activities. There is something for everyone and there is always something new to try, see or do. You can't beat living in Bozeman and you can't beat being a Bobcat!”

Fenali Parekh
“I chose MSU mainly because my focus was core research and MSU ranks in the top-tier of US research institutes. I primarily like FGH because the staff is friendly and always ready to help. Additionally, it’s good to have an event every month which provides a great refreshment from the daily schedule. Being an International student, I didn't know anything about housing here in the U.S. so FGH made it easy for me. I have always loved living in FGH because it’s so safe. Also, the CAs make sure the community is quiet, which helps with late night and early morning studies.”

Shri Kothari
“It’s easy to study in FGH due to the quieter environment and there is quick access to outdoor space when you need a break, which is refreshing. I love attending different events that FGH hosts and I love meeting people from different cultures and nationalities.”

Sydney and Giosia Rosheger
“We had the opportunity to meet many incredible people from around the world, allowing us the privilege to learn more about their cultures. Living in Family & Graduate Housing is a must for those who value community, wise economic decisions, minimizing stress, and maximizing family time.”

Valentina Nino de Valladares
“I chose MSU because of my advisor and one of my friends who studied here before. Montana State University is a university with high standards, exceptional professors, labs, equipment, and staff. At MSU, you have incredible opportunities to join a research team to perform research and gain knowledge which in my opinion it is invaluable. I really like living in F&GH because it is a safe place to live - full of green areas, playgrounds, and trails where my son can play with friends and neighbors. I enjoy the activities that FGH organizes to make everybody feel welcome and part of a community especially when you are so far away from your own family and old friends.”
