A national expert on corporate accounting ethics will speak on the responsibilities of the profession in the wake of national corporate scandals at 4:10 p.m. Oct. 10 when the Montana State University College of Business conducts its first 2002-2003 David B. Orser Executive Speakers Forum.

Dr. Gerald Searfoss, a retired partner of the Deloitte & Touche national accounting firm and current professor of accounting at the University of Utah will speak on "CPAs, The Watchdog for the Investing Public: Shame on Us" in room 108 Reid Hall. His lecture is free and open to the public.

Searfoss' lecture, geared towards the business professional, CPA, students and faculty, will focus on the current challenge for the accounting profession and its impact on the entire business community.

Searfoss has been a national director of accounting standards for Deloitte & Touche, a member of a number of American Institute of Certified Public Accountants committees including those on accounting standards, strategic planning and career development.

The David B. Orser Executive Speakers Forum is an MSU-Bozeman College of Business program designed to bring guest presenters to campus who are dedicated to excellence and who have a proven record of professional achievement.
