Greetings!

Welcome to the Master of Science in Science Education (MSSE) program website.  As you investigate the program you will find that it is an ideal program for science educators to hone their teaching craft, but also their content knowledge in science disciplines.  One of the many strengths of the program is the connection you will make and the learning you will gain from students across the nation and internationally.

The MSSE program was developed specifically for science educators and accepted the first cohort of students in 1997. The 30 credit program is a combination of science content courses and science education courses.  As a student, you are able to customize the courses you take to best meet your professional development needs as you take science courses in at least two areas of science concentration. A majority of courses are offered online, giving you flexibility to continue to teach and learn from home. Summer field study and campus courses provide active learning from world-class science researchers.

The staff of MSSE is eager to assist you with questions and professional development advising throughout your tenure in the program. We are extremely student-centered and will be with you every step of the way.  Our goal is that you succeed as a student in the program as you strive toward earning a master’s degree in science education.

We look forward to working with you in the MSSE program.
