Six people are standing in a conference roomJake Jabs College of Business and Entrepreneurship (JJCBE) is seeking local and regional businesses and non-profit organizations willing to offer students practical business experience during the upcoming spring 2014 semester in return for research, issue analysis or operational advice.

Participating students will be enrolled in “BMGT 463-Entrepreneurial Experience” or “BMGT 475R-Management Experience.” Both are senior-level courses taught by Gary Bishop, an associate teaching professor of management.

During the four-month courses, students will help manage special consulting projects requested by area businesses and non-profit organizations. Past projects have included developing business, marketing and financial plans, identifying ways to improve businesses, suggesting solutions to problems, re-branding businesses, developing website and social networking sites, market and competition analysis, sales analysis, feasibility studies, assisting with human resources and customer service issues, developing employee training and handbooks, plus many more business and management processes.

The JJCBE is accepting applications from companies wishing to participate in one of these courses during the spring 2014 semester, which runs from Jan. 8–May 2. All types of businesses and organizations are encouraged to apply. Applications are due Dec. 16.

The JJCBE has recently approved and launched new program, Student Entrepreneurs in Action (SEA). Local businesses and organizations can now apply for a college intern from the SEA program to work with them from 10-20 hours weekly, at no cost to the business or organization.
