MONTANA TAX INCENTIVES
The Montana Qualified Endowment Tax Credit can help you take up to $10,000 (or $20,000 for you and your spouse) off your Montana
taxes! By utilizing a planned gift like a deferred gift annuity to establish an endowment,
you can make a big impact at Montana State University while reducing or even eliminating
your Montana state income tax burden.
Another important Montana tax credit to consider is the Montana College Contribution Credit. This allows you to take a credit of 10% of your gift to the MSU Foundation, up to
$500. In order to qualify for this credit, your contribution has to be made to a Montana
college or university that offers a baccalaureate degree level education program.
In addition to this credit, your contribution may also be claimed as an itemized deduction.
Your accountant may also assist you with these wonderful ways to give and reduce taxes,
so make sure to ask him/her what you can do to take advantage!
