Financial Capability
All students with non-immigrant visas (F-1 or J-1) must provide certification of financial support for the time period that they will be enrolled at Montana State University. The Financial Certificate guarantees that the required minimum funds, in U.S. dollars, will be available to the student during the academic year. Applicants must also plan to meet expenses for subsequent years of study.
Applicants must submit:
- A completed International Applicant Financial Form (included in the International Undergraduate Application) signed by both the applicant and the applicant's financial sponsor. Download Financial Certificate.
- A bank statement verifying that the necessary funds are available.
Both of the above documents must be originals with original signatures and seals. Photocopies and faxed copies are not acceptable.
While an admission decision can be made without the financial documentation, the I-20 (F-1)or DS-2019 (J-1) forms cannot be issued until both the Financial Form and Bank Statement are received.
