SPSS

SPSS and AMOS are now available to faculty and staff for teaching and learning and academic research only.

 

SPSS is available in all UIT Student Public Computing Labs across campus and in Remote Labs 

 

IBM® SPSS® Statistics is a powerful statistical software platform. It delivers a robust set of features that lets your organization extract actionable insights from its data.

IBM Usage Guidance:

SPSS Statistics is available for Microsoft Windows and the Mac operating system. Cost for this software is paid through the MSU IBM contract.

Amos

  • IBM® SPSS® Amos is a powerful structural equation modeling (SEM) software helping support your research and theories by extending standard multivariate analysis methods, including regression, factor analysis, correlation and analysis of variance.
  • SPSS Amos is only available for Windows systems

SPSS Download and Install

  1. For MSU owned computers, you will need to use MakeMeAdmin, to install SPSS on your computer.

  2. After the MakeMeAdmin process is complete...
  3. Go to https://www.montana.edu/software.
    1. Locate IBM - SPSS. 
  4. Click the box next to "I accept Software Terms of Use".
  5. Versions
    1. The version of the key and the version of the installer/ client must be the same. 
  6. License Key 
    1. Software Authorization Key will be found in the Software Portal as a text file separate from the software downloads
    2. License keys are OS agnostic and will work on either Windows of Mac. 
  7. Installer / Client
    1. Click the link for the applicable Operating System you are using.
      1. The Windows 10 64-bit, will be the installer used for Windows 11 systems.

Amos Download and Install

  1. Go to https://www.montana.edu/software.
    Locate IBM - SPSS. 
  2. Click box next to "I accept Software Terms of Use".
  3. Versions
    1. The version of the key and the version of the installer/.exe must be the same. 
  4. License Key 
    1. There is a separate license key for AMOS, different than the one used for the SPSS install.
  5. Installer / Client
    1. SPSS Amos is only available for Windows systems.
