Campus-licensed Software
MSU holds campus-wide licenses for the following list of software.
Cost: In most cases, the campus-wide license allows MSU to provide the software at no extra cost, however in some the license allows the software to be offered at a discounted price much lower if purchased individually.
Availability: Certain licenses are not available to students and some are limited in number. Please see information under each for details.

Adobe Products
MSU has a limited number of licenses available to MSU employees only for Acrobat DC Pro and Adobe Creative Cloud.

Offices not covered by the campus agreement should contact Adobe directly to purchase Creative Cloud/Adobe products.
Mathematica
MSU employees and students may download Mathematica on university-owned and personal computers.

MATLAB
MSU has a campus-wide license for MATLAB, a technical computing language software program.
The license enables students, faculty and staff to download the software directly from the MathWorks site at no additional cost, for use on or off campus. Free access to the MATLAB Academy Online Training Suite (see details below) is also part of the license.

McAfee Antivirus
MSU employees and students may download McAfee on University-owned and personal computers.

Minitab
Can be installed on any MSU-Bozeman computers owned, leased or otherwise operated
by MSU Bozeman regardless of the “type” of user e.g. staff, student, faculty, affiliate
etc.
Installation on personal computers is allowed for MSU Faculty and Students ONLY, soley for performing your academic work.
*Note - Do not use Product Key or License Server, use FILE.

Office 365 ProPlus
Office Suite - MSU employees and students may download the latest Office suite of products on
university-owned and personally-owned computers at no cost. Versions for both Windows and Mac computers are available.

MSU employees and students may download Read&Write Gold on university-owned and personal computers.

SAS
Students: SAS offers a FREE version of their software called SAS University Edition for Windows, Mac and Linux. Downloads and Installation guides can be found at this link: https://www.sas.com/en_us/software/university-edition/download-software.html. Please note, support for installation is provided from SAS directly.
Employees: MSU holds a campus license for SAS that allows employees to purchase the software at a discounted price.
This purchased version of the software can be installed on University Owned devices and can be installed and used at home on personal devices.
SAS does not offer a MacOSX options for this version of SAS.

SaS University Addition for FREE
SAS University Edition contains a subset of all the functionality in SAS Foundation
and uses SAS Studio as the interface to SAS. Products such as SAS/GRAPH, SAS/IML Studio,
and SAS/SECURE, along with many SAS Studio tasks, are not included. There are additional
limitations due to the nature of the vApp environment.

Cost for this software is paid through the MSU IBM contract.

Home Use Definition: Students and faculty may use the Program at home on computers that are owned or leased

Stata (the vendor) has advised that:
"We will not be providing free temporary licenses beyond the summer semester."
Therefore if you need access to Stata, you can access it through UIT Remote Labs using the General Application Suite.
