Formatting Your Electronic Thesis or Dissertation (ETD) Presentation
Thursday, November 3, 2022 from 3:30-5:00PM in Reid 333.
All graduate students writing a thesis or dissertation are required to format their
paper according to the Graduate School's requirements and then have it approved before it is uploaded to ScholarWorks.
Come to a presentation with the MSU Graduate School, Library, Writing Center, and Counseling
and Psychological Services about formatting, publishing, copyright, writing, and submitting your final ETD. After attending the workshop, consider submitting an early
draft of your ETD for preliminary feedback.

Friday, Nov. 18: Please submit a draft of your ETD by today if you plan to graduate Fall 2022.

Friday, Dec. 2: Last day for master's/doctoral comp exam and thesis/dissertation defense if planning
to graduate Fall 2022.

Grad Students, Got Questions? We Have Answers! Pop-Up Event
Monday, Nov. 14 from 1:30-2:30PM in Leon Johnson Hall Annex (by Room 346)
Join staff from the Graduate School for any and all questions you have about navigating
graduate school and MSU. Do you want to know what a comprehensive exam is? Are you
looking for resources to help pay for childcare? Stop by our pop-up table in the annex
of Leon Johnson Hall to grab a free cup of coffee and a snack and ask any questions
you might have about grad school.
Counseling and Psychological Services Drop-In Hours
This is typically the time of the semester where students can begin to feel an increase
in stress and overwhelm from the pressure of school, relationships, homesickness,
and/or other demands in their lives. We also know that not everyone may need ongoing
counseling to address such issues AND it can be very helpful to talk to a professional
for some support and guidance. The Let’s Talk Drop-in hours through Counseling and Psychological Services may be the perfect fit for students
who simply need to check in about a specific problem, want resources to support self-care,
or are wondering if counseling would be a good fit. No need to make an appointment,
just show up at the designated time/location and a CPS staff member will be there
to assist you.
Bounty of the Bridgers Food Pantry
The Bounty of the Bridgers Campus Food Pantry provides supplemental and emergency food assistance to students, faculty, staff,
and family members at no cost.

Graduate School Child Care Grant
Student parents are encourage to apply for a childcare award made possible through
MSU's recent Child Care Access Means Parents in School Program (CCAMPIS) grant. The
funds available to student parents are significantly higher than previous semesters.
Awards will be made on a sliding scale with an estimated average of $250 per month
during the Spring semester. Please submit the Child Care Grant form by November 18, 2022.
TL1 Translational Research Program 2023 Cohort
The Institute of Translational Health Sciences TL1 program is a one-year NIH funded program that offers rigorous training in clinical and translational
research for PhD students in an interdisciplinary cohort environment. While in the
program, participants will receive a stipend, research funds, and tuition support.
We would like to encourage applicants interested in all types of research, including
patient-oriented research, translational research, small- and large-scale clinical
investigation, and trials, epidemiologic and natural history studies, health services
research, and health behavior research to apply. The application deadline is December
16, 2022. Learn more and apply on the ITHS website.
We’ll be having a few information sessions for anyone interested in attending and
learning more about the program.

Native American Natural Resource Research Scholarship
The Intertribal Timber Council (ITC), in partnership with the USDA Forest Service
Research and Development is pleased to announce scholarship opportunities for Native
American students who are planning or currently conducting tribally relevant research
in a natural resource issue. The ITC Research Scholarship is designed to support tribally
relevant, natural resource-based research being conducted by Native American scholars
enrolled in a graduate program. All requested material must be received by close of
business (5:00 p.m. PST) November 30, 2022. Incomplete applications will not be considered.

is a great place to look when you are close to finishing your PhD and the salaries

GradCat 360 is a comprehensive professional development program for graduate students at Montana
State University. It is a series of programs and events designed by the Graduate School

Join us for a panel discussion highlighting first-gen student experiences at MSU.
Panel will consist of first-gen undergraduate and graduate students, with 45 minutes
of structured questions followed by a Q&A. Open to MSU students, staff and faculty.
Wednesday, Nov. 30 from 1:00-2:30PM in Reid Hall 124
The purpose of the Inclusive Pedagogy workshop series is to engage faculty in creating
a supportive learning environment that removes barriers for students. In this workshop,
participants will learn from a faculty panel about how to implement trauma informed
pedagogy into their teaching and interactions with students. Trauma informed pedagogy
is not a set of prescribed strategies, or one more thing you need to do. Instead,
it is an inclusive lens to help you build meaningful relationships and promote equity
in the classroom.
